"AND SO THIS MOTHERFUCKER BLASTED THROUGH THE TRAIN DOORS WITH HIS STANK-ASS-WATER, HIP THRUSTING HERE AND THERE BEFORE TWERKING HIS WAY INTO THE OFFICE OF BOOTACIOUS-MOOTACIOUS-SEXYLAENA goiNG "EHY I DIED AND THEN DYED MY TOTALLY-COOL-NOT-OLD FASHIONED HAIR TO RED AND NOW I'M 20 YEARS YOUNGER.” – Interpretation by the sexylicious Mafurako:iconkirakiraplz:

aka the waterbending dragon who died and came back to life but probably should have stayed dead for all the shit he fucked up
So, canonly speaking, Heren left February 2013 and came back March 2015 with Arlaena. Which I guess means he's been gone over two years...
:iconmingteatimeplz: OOPS!

▌ Back to [Basics]

"I did not choose to be born, but once born, I will fight to live."

    Name:
Herensúge Penzydon (Heh-ren-suuj Penn-ze/zai-den). Just call him Heren!
Position: Previously interim Electric Car attendant. Traingoer (Beta): Electric Car. Cabin E5! Dragon zombie. (EDO TENSEI//SLAPPED)
Nicknames: Idiot, Mr. Lifeguard, "Exiled Prince", California Roll, Moses, Santa Claus, Pretty Boy
    Gender: Male
Birth Place | Dimension: Houpetor Verthichai Arux di Ixen | Earth: A illusionary mountain range stretching from Basque to Denmark, marked as territory of the Draconis incendia, invisible to non-dragons who do not have clairvoyant eyes or are not invited. Literally. A Draconis incendia must allow any outsider entrance into their home for the mountain valley to show itself.  >>More on Houpetor (WIP)<<
Date of Birth: Although Heren doesn't really know when his birthday is (the draconic calendar is much different than the human calendar, but he legitimately has no idea), he celebrated his 20th birthday with Saphira on December 18th, after she asked him that day to go to a festival with her as her birthday present to him.
    Horoscope: Sagittarius
           Positive: Optimistic | Philosophical | Adventurous | Magnanimous | Freedom loving | Versatile | Independent | Enthusiastic |
Negative: Tactless | Inconsistent | Overconfident | Restless | Blunt | Avoids difficult situations | Impatient | Promises more than can deliver |
Age: In human years, 37 DEC. 2015 PASSED SO HE'S 38 LMAO
Physically, he is 24. Even though that is not his human age, he will insist that's his real age anyway//mings
The time he spent after death (in the afterlife and Adramar) did not abide by human standards of time. One day could have been one week which could have been two months.
Since dragons live to be thousands of human-years old, he would be around 10 dragon-years (polleius) old. His kind ages VERY slowly, and physical appearances that would normally indicate age come at a slower pace.
    Height: 6 feet 3 inches!
Weight: 172 lbs. [Dragon bones are hollow like birds' bones, accounting for his light weight.]
    Orientation: demisexual
Relationship Status: who would want to date this idiot let's be honest here LOL
    Family: Link (WIP)
    APPEARANCE: Link
Species: Draconis incendia (Lit. "Burning Dragon")

THIS SECTION WILL BE REALLY LONG.  (Below is the TL;DR version.)

****The History section is supposed to cover various things like why the character came to the World Train and all, but I've covered all that in my previous bio. This section covers everything post WT arrival; to read more about Heren's history pre-WT Arrival, please refer to the hyper-shortened sections below and their respective hyperlinks.***

!!!!! GENERAL TL;DR (of everything SINCE arriving on WT):

+ Heren finds out that the political situation in his home is getting REAAAALLY bad, partly because of him, and leaves the train to do what he can and help back home.
+ Makes several detours but eventually comes home, where he reunites with his younger sister, who is participating in the Resistance group, led by Mero's family.
+ Successfully(?) intervenes between his father and opposing side, if "success" means having to fight them both. And winning, with a few (many) broken bones.
+ (Over a long period of time) Completely eradicates the previous "monarchy" and replaces it with a parliament.
+ Some people aren't happy about this. Namely, Heren's half-brother, Vaeros, who was next in line to become Leader of the clan.
+ Vaeros hunts Heren down with the help of a tricked Arlaena. Heren dies.

+ But wakes up in Purgatory! Where he reunites with Renhet, who also died.
+ Since it is Purgatory, the two have a chance to come back into the living world-- just like there is an entrance into Hell and Heaven from Purgatory, there is an entrance to the Living Realm. Ren and Heren search for it.
+ Renhet is dragged into Hell by Hell's guards. Heren continues his search alone.
+ Finds a witch who says she knows where the gate is, but wants in. Literally. In his body, so that she can get out of Purgatory too. He complies.

+ Out of Purgatory! But when separating his body from the Witch, a "side effect" is created-- what Heren now refers to as his "curse."
+ Witch sends him to Adramar bc she gives no fucks.
+ Taken in by Adramar's dragon race. Spends years in his dragon form, growing close to them and learning about their princess, Queen and source of power that the queen's lineage is supposed to protect.
+ Tons of fighting and shit happen, the queen is killed by the humans that the dragons are at war with, Heren gets involved in the war too much to his reluctance. "cant i get some fucking chill fOR ONE YEAR"
+ Kills a commanding officer who turned out to be Arlaena's husband, Rowan
+ And look Arlaena is here too LOL OOPS and there dies all of Adramar's dragons save the princess Heren made flee beforehand. Actually, he doesnt know if she's alive either. She probably died. Hm.
+ Reveals himself (in his human form) to Arlaena and runs away with her. DOESNT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT HER DEAD HUSBAND AND HIS INVOLVEMENT IN THE WAR NO NO NOPE

+ Brings Arlaena back to the World Train.
+ Turns out there's a lot more guilt than he expected so like any mature adult, he runs away from his problems and isolates himself in his room forever.
+ But then Harper dies, and heren comes to his senses, and so he accepts everything that's happened so far and comes out of the closet to actually live his life again.
+ You are here!

>>Birth to Exile<<
+ born
+ everyone: what the fuck is that
+ meets Merostar (also betrothed but whatever. spoiler: it gets called off by ya boi here)
+ exiled

>>Pre WT Travels<< (WIP)

In which Heren travels for 3.5 years and is told about WT, and searches Earth for it.

>>WT Arrival<<
+ Meets a bunch of friends, makes a family for himself :')
+ half of them die
+ shit.

>>"Homecoming" arc START!

+ Finds out Merostar was supposed to take him back home by force if necessary
+ "I came out here to have a good time and I'm honestly feeling attacked right now"
+ Learns about the political turmoil back home, also Mero's family was planning a coup d'teat on his family oops
+ Well shit he's gotta go back and somehow fix this.

+ So he leaves without telling anyone. Almost. Merostar knows what he's up to and tries to stop him. Renhet catches him as he's leaving.
+ Renhet gives him Diana's Stone and he gains ability to wield fire using the stone as a medium. Heren asks him to take care of Arlaena, Ramona and Lorelie.
+ On his way back home he has to make a detour to see an old friend.
(**this is directly related to Heren's Pre WT travels, and until I finish that, it's hard to explain what happens here. But he sees an old woman who had taken him in when he was first exiled.***)

+ Makes another pit stop and meets Damon. Refers the dude to World Train.

+ Makes it home and is shown around by someone later revealed to be his sister, Peneope.
+ Taken to the resistance hq and people expect him to have a plan but he doesnt lol
+ Turns out the coup was taking place earlier than anticipated! Partly because Merostar was gone so long that her family had no choice but to assume she was dead, so why wait any longer?
+ Intervenes between the Penzydon and Oxensteirnna fight, fights Oxensteirnna House leader with father, but subdues them both so that they hear him out.
+ Violence and fear isn't the way he wants to incite change. Spares his father and the Oxensteirnna House.
+ Prevents further conflict by demolishing the monarchy, eradicating dangerous traditions and regulations, and establishing a parliament.

YAY! But....

+ Vaeros, second oldest in line and Heren's half brother, dislikes this change because he wanted to bring change to the clan after becoming the Head. However the "Head" doesn't have the same powers and rights it used to, and his plan to counter humans diplomatically and by force only when necessary is ruined. Believes he cannot avenge his younger brother's death.
+ During reconstruction, Heren slips up and in an act of frustration, attacks Peneope with water. The public begin to regain their unease and fear of him.
+ Heren takes that as his sign that he should leave before he overstays his welcome. Leaves Houpetor.
Vaeros takes that as his sign of opportunity, and forms an assasination squad. He goes after Heren.
+ Vaeros runs into Arlaena, who is searching for Heren after promising Lorelie she would find him.
+ Vaeros tricks Arlaena, saying Heren went on a diplomatic mission and his job is to find Heren and assist him.
+ They find Heren, Vaeros + squad fight Arlaena and Heren. Vaeros tries to kill an offguard Arlaena, but Heren intervenes, and gets stabbed.

+ Ded. :iconimsotiredplz: (Arlaena buries him.)

+ Wakes up in Purgatory :^)
+ Meets up with Renhet who died protecting Arlaena, Lorelie and Ramona from collapsing boulders.
+ Together they descend Purgatory looking for a way out.
+ While ascending back up however, they are prevented from going any further by guards of Hell's gates, and Renhet is forced back into Hell.
+ Heren tries to put up a fight but Ren tells him to go on without him. Heren promises to get Ren out, throwing him his "Endurance" earring, and Ren asks Heren to take care of Arlaena, Lorelie and Ramona for him, paralleling Heren's request when he first left. They both know it is likely they will never meet again.
+ Heren is once again alone. Which almost drives him insane but leaves him even more determined to get out.
+ After hunting and being hunted, he finds a witch that tells him she knows a way out but says she will only show him if she can come along. Because she lacks a body and is a roaming soul (she was extracted and her body placed in Tartarus, the deepest pit in Hell) she asks to seal her soul in his body until they get out, since to get out you need a body (Heren has a body- his soul and body were together when he was buried).

He agrees and strikes the deal with her.

"For the first time in ages, I had one clear thought: I did not want to die."

>>Adramar arc START!
**This is in parallel to Arlaena's list of events so I may refer to the occurrence of some events as "same year Arlaena did ____". Also be aware that the humans of Adramar have a different viewpoint than the dragons of Adramar, hence some minor and major differences in the story.***

+ Makes it out of Purgatory with the witch, but at a terrible cost: when separating the witch from himself he gains an awful side effect of the fusion, a "curse". (***Please read below for more info on it!!***)
+ Out of frustration in believing she guaranteed his safety and from the curse's awakening, he assaults her, but stops himself from killing her since he almost dies from overexertion
+ The witch "makes it up" to Heren by telling him there are people who need him, and there are people he needs to save.

+ Witch sends him to Adramar with her magic. [Arlaena has been in this dimension for 15 years already and has woken up from her second comatose as a result from morphing.]
+ Ends up on the shores of Adramar broken and bloody. Heals in isolation, mostly working out his curse. Hides his identity with a cloak.
+ Found by civilians on the outskirts of the outer wall.
+ Lives among humans in search of "people" the witch told him about, but is found out to be a dragon by accident, and is almost killed. Goes into hiding at the furthermost point of the outer wall.
+ Adramar dragons attack, realize Heren is an outside dragon, take him to their lairs. [Heren has been here for five years. Arlaena has been here for 20 years: the day they attack is the day of her wedding.]
+ Kept in their prison while the dragons debate on what to do with him. Since he lived with humans and can take a human form, most deem him a spy or a threat. Heren offers to show them that he can morph into a dragon. The princess, Vitalyea, speaks on Heren's behalf, and the dragons decide to keep him in prison until they believe he is not a threat.
+ Heren stays in prison for a year. During this time, Vitalyea visits him regularly, curious about where he is from and what sort of dragon he is. They get close, but Vitalyea admits that there is nothing she can do to help him get out of prison: while she may the Queen's own daughter, it is only in title.
EXPLANATIONS:
The real successor to the Queen dragon is decided through a series of tests, involving their power source: "Maia," a large crystal located in a secret sanctuary that only the Queen and her successor may enter. The Queen, and those before and after her, have special powers that the other Adramar dragons do not have. They can take on a human appearance, connect their clan through telepathy, and harness the raw power of their crystal while the other dragons can support their own strength secondhandedly via Maia. The difference is that Successors can take all of Maia's power, while normal dragons get the trickle-down.
Becoming a Successor involves first and foremost a nomination by several people, then many physical examinations, such as combat and sparring, and checkups on strength, ability, and endurance. The final test is a full-body "encounter" with Maia. The crystal sucks you into it and gives you a test of its own. It's a pretty big deal.
+ Vitalyea becomes Successor, and makes Heren promise to stay ONLY in his dragon form from then on out. Now that she is rightfully princess, she has authority to take him out of prison. But the public agreed only on that condition. [Heren has been here for seven years. Arlaena has been here for 22 years.]
+ Learns about and grows used to the customs and life amongst these dragons all while avoiding battling against the humans. He actively takes a neutral side.
+ Queen is getting sicker. Dragons tend to her while gathering their strength for a final, full-out attack.
+ Well, Heren doesn't really want them to eradicate the entire human race here...so one night after countless nights patrolling the territory, he sees humans (from the army, probably) actually coming near dragon turf. The closest any human has come to finding their base. Heren phases back into his human form and distracts them from finding the dragon base, but also warns them that the dragons might be planning one final attack-- they should run while they can, or get their leader to make peace with the dragons.
+ No one ever listens. Eventually the main base is found by an expedition, and while the dragons raced to kill the group so that no one finds out, survivors make it back to Adramar and the army is alerted: the main base and the dragons' power source has been found.
+ A group sent by the army goes to the dragons' base in an attempt to kill them before they kill the humans. The Queen is slain during this, at which point Heren finds himself with no other option but to fight back. Since he is a type of dragon these humans had never seen before (he had never been on an ambush), he was able to catch them by surprise. Finally, literally on the brink of death from his injuries, Heren takes down the commander. There are no survivors. [Heren has been here for 14 years, Arlaena 29.]
+ War rages on for a year, and Maia is broken by a different expedition: one led by the commander's wife. [Heren: 15, Arlaena: 30]
+ All the dragons are weakened, except the one who was never born into this clan: Heren. In desperation, tries to save the person he was closest to for the past 15 years-- Vitalyea. He forces her to run while she still can. He has no idea what he'll do, but he can fend the army off. He has the advantage since the army isn't prepared for a dragon of a different species. He has no intention to die though, so he plans to run away as well once he thinks he has bought enough time.
+ But a dragon of a different species is still a dragon nonetheless. The army corners him and he notices a familiar face.
+ It was Arlaena.
+ The two run from the battle everything they've known for the past 10+ years.

+ Heren brings Arlaena back to the train. Returns her scarf(!) and places her in infirmary.
+ RUNS AWAY AND ISOLATES HIMSELF BC HE'S ACTUALLY A PIECE OF SHIT. GODDAMNIT HEREN
+ But then Harper dies. Oops.
+ So he tries to reconcile with Arlaena and is slowly integrating himself back onto the train.

▌ Dive Into the Heart

----------->> PERSONALITY
"I may not be smart enough to do everything, but I'm dumb enough to try anything!"

Heren has both changed significantly and not changed much since leaving (and returning) to World Train. His experiences in two wars has surfaced an inner conflict that he had barely even thought about when he was on the train, which has incited many changes in his personality- for better or for worse.

Heren is still much the same in that he is idiotically bright and bubbly. He is an honest-to-goodness optimist and loves to make people smile and laugh. He is mischievous and competitive, and his curiosity for the unknown leaves him wanting to learn about everything. He will almost always be seen with a smile or making a joke. Though he has trouble reading the atmosphere at times (especially in romantic atmospheres), he knows when to use the skills, intelligence, and common sense he has, which many people (because of his un/purposefully “idiotic” behavior) are surprised about. His goofball demeanour tends to hide a heart that is dominated by morals and fiercely loyal to his friends. One of his main goals throughout his time on the train and off of it has been to protect his friends and his bonds with them, in hopes that nothing will come between them.
While all this is still very present in Heren, a lot of these things have dimmed in intensity and have been replaced with a wariness and unspoken anxiety, paired with an abyssal amount of guilt. If you leave him alone to his thoughts, he will likely be thinking about his mistakes, regrets, and what he can do to fix the problems he faces now.

At First Glance...
A REAL LOSER. What your first impression of Heren is depends on what setting you meet him in. If you both are at some sort of festive event, he can come off as loud, obnoxious, idiotic, cheerful, and silly. He likes to hype up the party and wants to make sure everyone's having a good time. If he's just chilling on his own, he can come off as polite, and curious. He will be cordial, but sincere. Striking up a conversation could mean staying there for hours because he'll want to get to know you and can ask many questions.  Neither kind of impression, nor any other impression your character can get, of course, truly encompasses Heren's personality completely. Looking deeper, he is so much more!

Using a Magnifying Glass...

Heren is true-hearted and brave, shown by his participation in war and willingness to sacrifice, even die for those he loves. He is witty, and a mischievous troublemaker. Despite having been met with a great deal of prejudice, he retains an ability to see the good in almost everybody and is extremely forgiving.
Heren has been shown to maintain an unselfish manner regardless of the situation, even going as far as to defend people who have treated him unkindly. When needed, he is even willing to deliberately put himself in embarrassing situations without a hint of embarrassment, showing nonconformity. Heren is an outgoing, goofy and an all around friendly person. He treats people equally and has no problems introducing himself to strangers and bonds with them easily, showing a lot of confidence (real or otherwise)
Heren has shown to care for his friends and the people around him, having a sense of protectiveness which focuses only on his friends' well being, even excluding his own to achieve that. He would put himself on the spot if someone was threatening his friends and has shown to be extremely reluctant if not simply unable to do something that may hurt the people he cares about. Heren takes other people's feelings in priority, and is willing to go the distance if it's for the wellbeing of the people he cares about.

On many occasions, Heren demonstrates himself to be reckless and immature. In several instances, he risked getting seriously injured because he felt stir-crazy, and sometimes advises his friends to take rash actions. Much of this can be attributed to the vast amount of time spent in confinement or simply alone, making him especially eager to spend time with and protect his loved ones. Though he holds compromise very dearly and tends to be flexible, Heren can also be determinedly stubborn once he sets a goal, and extremely stubborn if someone provokes him by saying he cannot achieve said goal-- just one of the many ways he is very hypocritical as well.

However, through it all, Heren is ultimately pure at heart. He possesses a mental control (for the most part) that contrasts sharply with his passionate and impulsive nature. The fact that he was able to resist the psychological effects of Purgatory and Adramar for many years suggests that he has an unusually strong sense of self, and therefore was capable of withstanding long periods of emotional hardships.

So What's Changed?
  • Extremely guilty about a shitton of things like idk killing Arlaena's husband, separating her from her children and ruining her happiness :^) :^) :^)
  • Overwhelmed with a sense of loneliness since you know almost everyone he knew on the train has died lmao
  • Heavy sense of responsibility after being in charge of reconstruction of his home and stuff, leading Adramar's dragons in strategic battle AND FAILING IN BOTH GOOD JOB
  • Still constantly conflicted over the whole issue of what does it mean to be "human", what is right and wrong, is who he is the same as what he is, etc.

IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO READ ALL THAT HERE'S A TL;DR :iconthegloryofplz:
A spirited and sincere male with a strong sense of guidance and morals, and an undying loyalty to those he treasures. While he possesses a stubborn optimism, he finds himself tormented with uncertainty of who versus what he is, the constant question of what it means to be "human", and guilt over the crimes he believes he should confess to, but never will.
    + Friendly | Caring | Optimistic | Enthusiastic | Generous | Brave | Curious | Empathetic | Genuine | Creative
    – Altruistic | Stubborn | (Very) Hypocritical | Mischevious | Tactless | EVASIVE AF | Rash | Paranoid | Guilty | Sometimes oblivious, dense
    +/– Contemplative | Ambiverted | Observant

----------->> Likes:
Sweets | Strawberries | Gemstones/anything shiny | WATER | World Train family | jokes, puns, even if they're corny | ~*~Technology~*~ | Learning! | Meeting new people! | Knick knacks (another hoarding habit and he is sentimental as fuck) | FOOD | Blue
----------->> Dislikes:

Being underestimated | Repetitive noises | Closed spaces | Doctors (man the number of times his tail was dissected //CRY) | Secrets kept from him (HYPOCRITE) | People crying | Having to choose between sides because he's an indecisive asshole | Fleece ("wHY DOES THIS CLOTH SHOCK ME") |

----------->> Fears:
Some of these he does have a really deep rooted fear for:

+ Losing control of his powers: This fear was originally set in by his parents who wanted to prevent him from using his natural hydrokinesis and force pyrokinesis into him. This fear was resurfaced during his hiatus journey, when he had accidentally lashed out at his sister Peneope in a fit of frustration, splashing her with water and thereby scarring her face. One of his habits is now to hold his hands together and close to him or wring his hands.

+ Losing control of his curse: One of his biggest fears. Heren constantly worries that his curse will act up and thus is paranoid about making sure it is under check, whether by repeatedly going over when and how long he has used water or fire magic, and isolating himself from people. He is worried that he will slip and lose whatever hold he has clawed his way to gain over his curse, and of whatever consequences that await him and the people near him when he loses control. In addition, he is very anxious of the effects his curse as on him, as with every slip up more and more of his body turns into stone-- he has only been lucky that it has not hindered his movement yet. He fears being unable to find a solution out of this seemingly unsolvable predicament and being destroyed, turned completely into stone. More than this though, Heren is terrified of hurting people through this power that can overrule him and wants to take any and all costs to lock the curse in his own cage and never use or rely on the power he gains from it.

+ Being in tight, small places. Roots from the time he spent in The Well, which was supposed to be punishment or some sort of death sentence. This is also why he isn't in his room too much and explores the train, often lounging around outside on the top of the train as it moves. If he is put into a very narrow corridor or something similar, he gets very uncomfortable and may even have trouble breathing.

+ Wells. Pretty much for the above reason. Very scared of this. He hates seeing wells, being near wells (he will grow extremely nervous or cautious, as if someone will push him down), or anything to do with them. This is a big no-no. If he finds himself in a well, he will immediately try to climb out with his bare hands out of instinct before using common sense and manipulating water in the well. If there is no water, he will scream for help and claw at the wall before realizing he can fly out. Even though he can get out of wells easily, he will panic first before any common sense kicks in.

+ Losing loved ones. Heren obviously knows that death is inevitable, but he fears not being able to protect his loved ones from untimely death. He fears he will not be able to solve a preventable problem intime before its consequences occur.

+ Making promises. Or rather, breaking promises. Roots from being unable to keep his promises to Kaden and Ren: to protect Saphira and to bring Ren out of Hell, respectively. This isn't a very prominent fear, but the consequence of his often lighthearted, spontaneous, or not well thought-out promises is very vividly considered whenever he makes genuine promises.

+ Being restrained, having a lack of freedom.

▌ Fighting Dirty

    >> FULL BREAKDOWN HERE!!!!!<<

    Skills:
The negative traits and weaknesses Heren acquired through his journey put him at a significant disadvantage, and can easily make him an easy and extremely vulnerable foe. However, Heren did not grow weak through his trials- he has gained strength through his setbacks, and has learned much about his hydrokinesis as well as pyrokinesis.

Tl;dr is that to balance the major disadvantages he now has, he also has some ~*~*SWEET NEW JUTSU*~*~

    Genetic Skills:

    • Pyrokinetics: weak on his own tho
    • Flight: Able to fly great distances and altitudes for long periods of time, depending on energy and air in his "flight bladder." [See Draconis incendia link for more info on this]
    • Dragon form:  As with the rest of his species, he takes on a natural form of a dragon. This can only occur when he is on territory belonging to dragons, or (magical) dragon lands. Outside of those boundaries, the most he can do is transform a hand or something (think American Dragon Jake Long), but he would /really/ rather not do that because of the enormous concentration needed. Within the allowed territories, transforming only part of himself would indeed be easier to do than his whole body as you would think. However, outside this, forming even a hand requires much more effort than the amount needed to change his whole body in the allowed territories.

Developed Skills (Please check the google doc for full list!!):

    COMBAT:
Hydrokinetics: Heren can create, shape and manipulate water, inorganic compound with liquid, gas (steam, water vapor), and solid (ice) states, including changing them from one state to other. Various applications and deviations are associated with hydrokinesis, such as but not limited to: ice manipluation (deviation), motor-skill manipulation (application: manipulating water in the body), vapor manipulation (deviation), and water auras (application).
    • Vapor + Steam manipulation
    • Ice manipulation
    • Ice-Fire manipulation: A combination of fire and ice manipulation, this is the power to manipulate fire of freezing temperatures, fire so cold it gives ice burns more severe than normal burns, even frostbite, upon contact. These flames are immune to water. As it is a direct application of both fire and water manipulation, using this causes Heren's curse to activate immediately, so he uses it ONLY in a life or death situation.
Water Separation: can separate massive amounts of water, such as a lake or an ocean (under time limit inversely proportional to amount of water)
Water Empowerment: Gains strength and energy around or in contact with water.
    • Aquatic adaptation: able to survive and adapt to underwater environments, being able to breathe water with a gaseous breathing medium, to swim well and to endure high water pressure and extreme water temperatures. Heren is able to use his senses to perceive normally regardless of the distortion/pressure of the water, possibly including ignoring various impurities that would otherwise reduce the visibility.
Hydrokinetic Constructs: can turn water into tools, objects, weapons and other items.
(Unlocked at Level 30): can create semi-living constructs and/or create structures/buildings of varying permanence.
Dark Water manipulation (Unlocked at Level 5): Control, create and otherwise manipulate waters that are straight from the darkest fears sentient mind has about watery environments, including all the fears about waters that pull their victims under to drown or slow/trip them. The dark waters are obviously and actively malicious, dark and near sentient.
Wave Manipulation: (Unlocked at Level 10) Can call forth huge water waves to crash down at their targets, washing everything away in a powerful torrent. Creates a powerful wave of water to wash everything away. Can use the powerful surges of the crushing waves to crush opponents, ride on the waves to quick travel, and extinguish heavy fires quickly.

    Combat & Stats:
    [ General ]
Water is an extremely, if not the most, flexible of the elements. Because of this, Heren’s fighting style and stats are very flexible from battle to battle, depending entirely on the circumstances of water [How much, how far is the source or target, etc.]
+ Heren likes to think that he is a defensive player in combat but he gradually becomes an midline player, working for both offense and defense.
+ His attack can range from short to long distance, quick to slow. As he likes to rely on magic, his combat depends usually on the availability of water. Thus his preference: midrange, quick.

    Level 10
    HP: 580
    MP: 765
    ATK: 615
    DEF: 250
    SPD: 755
    Total: 2965

    Fighting Style:

    [ Playful | Relies on environment | Well-rounded | Midrange ]
Don't let his friendly disposition throw you off. Heren is a Jack of All Trades, and with his sharpened skills paired with rounded versatility, he is a deadly ace who is extremely difficult to take down once he gets serious.

    Weaknesses:
Although Heren is impervious to the main weakness (water) of his species seeing as he can wield it, he certainly isn't unstoppable from other weaknesses his species shares, as well as certain weaknesses tailored to his customized skills, and psychology.

    Physical
    • Electric magic, electricity in general = super effective against this pool noodle
    • Natural inhibitors: Solar and Lunar eclipses (as solar affects his body just because of his species, and lunar affects his hydrokinesis ability), sunny days, new moons, hot weather
    • Anything affiliated with Phoenix magic or Phoenix properties
    • Spells and magic against dragons
    • Specially made weapons (handcrafted and forged with certain magic)
    • Golden swords
    • His wings are super sensitive: even pulling on feathers without pulling them out will hurt like hell.
    • So is his tail
    • and his chest (underside in dragon form) and neck, which were the most common areas Adramar's soldiers where tried to kill him because of how vulnerable they are.
    • As stated, dragon eyes have really good sight and stuff, and so they're really sensitive to changes in light. He can get blinded or develop headaches from bright lights shone directly at hime or sudden changes in light very easily.

    Psychological
    • People crying. it's reaaally easy to distract him with this
    • Gemstones
    • Guilt tripping (it's really easy to do to him like wow)
    • Bring up Renhet or Arlaena and watch him break lmao

    Both:
    • That curse :^)
    • Other dragons themselves: The presence of other dragons creates a natural telepathic connection between them which, while it may be helpful in some situations, is not easily controlled/"turned off" and can cause a lot more damage than wanted. If one of the dragons connected is hurt, the other(s) feel it as well and take a toll to some degree, if not equal in pain. (Ex. splitting open the head of a nearby dragon would have either light or potentially fatal affects on Heren, ranging from giving her a migraine to leaving her in a coma. It depends on the range and how "locked" the connection has been made.)
    • Weapons that have slain other dragons: A natural telepathic connection to other dragons applies in this sense in that Heren can hear the spirits of the dragons slain by the weapon. It causes distress physically and mentally: weapons that have spilt dragon blood are even more effective against dragons with every kill, and the wails of the spirits piled on is distracting and excruciating to the dragon hearing them.

    Weaknesses to hydrokinesis:
    > Until he can generate his own liquid to manipulate, Heren is limited ONLY to present resources at his disposal. But yes. If he pees, he can manipulate that.
    > Again, natural inhibitors like the lunar cycle (new moons, lack of a moon, etc) and lunar eclipse can affect his ability.
    > The greater the amount of water, the greater the strain on the body and mind. Manipulating an ocean can cause him to pass out while manipulating a pool is child's play.
    > Quickly changing water between states back and forth for extended periods of time can be exhausting. (ie- melting water then freezing then melting then freezing.)
    > If you throw oil or sand into the water he is using, it will make it harder for him to manipulate. Sifting through matter to use pure water puts strain on him.

So...What's All This About A "Curse?"

It isn't really a "curse." Heren's body experiences several nasty side effects of when coming out of Purgatory with the witch infused in his body. The separation of himself from said witch is what triggered his body to start these reactions. Heren simply calls it a "curse" because he doesn't know any way to stop these reactions, and to revert his body to the way it used to be.

The effects of the curse are a result of a trigger which is, most commonly as Heren has found out, the result of switching from elements he manipulates, or using fire manipulation. The use of both elements adds onto the detrimental effect on his body by combining fire and water into stone: the curse's most (only) prominent feature is the slow, painful transformation into stone. The more he switches between elements without a proper amount of time in between, AKA- uses one element over the other, or uses no element, the more his body will slowly turn into stone, spreading from areas already damaged like a spreading stain.
However, canonly, it's been years since he figured out all this (he spent a lot of time in Adramar where he was able to work all this information out). So, it's not like he's gonna go reverse-medusa on himself. He isn't that stupid. He has had a lot of experience dealing with this body of his, so while he will slip up and trigger it from time to time (just like how people forget to take medications), it is MUCH less frequent than when he was first afflicted with it.

The areas damaged can still move, but are more difficult to use efficiently (it would be slow and cautious movements) and have the severe consequence of completely breaking off. Think of breaking the arm off of a statue-- that arm won't come back. That's what is a high risk of the damaged cursed areas: one wrong move, and it can shatter. Plus, it's no fun since he can still feel the pain.

That's the ONLY prominent effect, though.
Other effects include sickness (stay away from him after the active curse scurries off, he'll probably throw up) and weakness of the body (easily fatigued once the curse is activated and deactivated). Along with the boost in one element (commonly fire) will come a certain recklessness in behavior and lack of concern whether for himself or for others.

Why the more he switches without a proper amount of time?: Because when the elements combine hastily, the curse is activated-- a rapid change can create a volatile combustion.

Why if he uses one element over the other?: The curse would fight back. His body already naturally rejects opposite elements in his body, and what the curse does is strengthen the less dominant one, which his body reacts horribly to. If he relies only on one, the curse will push the other element to the same level, resulting in mixing.

Why if he uses no element?: Because then both elements are kept inside, squirming in his body, which reacts poorly. If you think of it like a pressurized pump, using at least one element lets go of the nasty reaction that would take place in his body, or at least significantly lessens it. But if you keep both highly reactive elements inside instead of letting one or both out every once in a while, the buildup is dangerous.

Already affected areas?: Bits of his left hand are flecks of stone. Part of his lower left arm is completely stone. Which is why that arm is wrapped up in bandages and secured with his gloves! :^)

▌ Wrapping Up!

Items:
  • Mentioned in APPEARANCE section: "Balance" earring (Black, made of Orichalcum) and "Strength" earring (made of Onyx and gold).
  • Diana's Stone: Given to him by Renhet before he left for his journey.
  • A large, emerald orb he collected his first day on the train, which he stole from an alien civilization with Arlaena's help. It calms him down, speeding up his healing rate by 25% and enhancing his hydrokinesis abilities in a pinch.

COOL FUN FACTS ABOUT HEREN:
  • Herensuge is named after the mythological (Basque) seven-headed dragon that was slain by an archangel. According to legend, a knight, while making penance, has to rescue a woman that had been given as ransom to the dragon. When he sees no way of defeating it, the knight prays to the archangel Michael to save him. The archangel, with God over his head, appears and kills the dragon.
  • Heren is an obligate carnivore. He can eat vegetables and stuff, but it won't give him the nutrients he needs to survive. He will get headaches if he doesn't eat meat.
  • Draconic is Heren's first languge. Although he never went to a proper school per se (since he was seen as a danger to society), Heren learned Draconic and English/Universal Language in the den he was kept in for most of his childhood. Often if he's talking hastily or is talking with fervent emotion (ie swearing colourfully etc), he'll slip into Draconic. Or if there's a word he can't describe in English/Universal, he'll say it in Draconic.
He is also fluent in the Basque language, and conversationally proficient in the languages of the countries surrounding Basque (Spanish, French, Portuguese). Amelie, the person who took him in when he was first exiled, tried to teach him French and a bit of Dutch, but his knowledge of Dutch is elementary at best.
  • Something important to remember is that Heren isn't human. At all. He may look human, but he isn't.
  • Parts of his body work in completely different ways. For example, he does not get drunk easily.
  • Something Heren does a lot is rub the bridge of his nose, which is a sign of humility, avoidance, purposeful ignorance, and lying.

  • Won't let people touch his wings until he completely trusts them. His wings are very sensitive and even plucking one feather will cause a good amount of pain.
  • Part time nudist is pretty comfortable being half/completely naked around people he considers friends. However, he is self conscious about his scars. The only reason he's chill with being shirtless around his friends is because he trusts them not to ask, or those friends already know where those scars come from.

▌ Roleplaying

Hello and wow thank you for surviving this bio so far and reading this section //GRATEFUL SOBS

Genres? Practically anything. Please note smut is something I am neither good at nor completely enthusiastic about but will do if you don't mind awful writing ' v '

Notes, comments, chatroom, skype + google docs are okay with me in terms of where to roleplay. I respond very slowly on skype though.
If you'd like my skype, I would be glad to give it to you if you ask! You can drop me a random note or comment wherever with a starter or asking to roleplay- I'm really open to anyway you wanna do it! If you want to rp via google doc, you can either send me the google doc or I can set it up. :>

:bulletblue:RP SAMPLE:
Woah. She was older than he thought, he realized, seeing the wrinkles more clearly with her goggles off. Her words caught his attention more than those wrinkles: Similar creatures that could be the reason humans were so averse to his kind? Something like this seemed almost too convenient. It brought an unexpected chortle to his lips.
"...that’s really something," Heren rubbed his forehead and smiled, suffering from a lack of proper words. "But... humans don’t find purpose from only conquering, do they?"
"I...don’t want to think I’m ignorant. I have a lot to learn, I know, but...I did learn my lesson from trying to clear my kind’s charges. I don’t see a point in fighting fire with fire when that only leads to destroying both sides. I-- I guess I would resort to that if I had to," He admitted unsurely, glancing down. "But I would want to find a better solution. I would want to try anything else first. I don’t think I’m ignorant, because... I’ve spent three human years from when I left my home and before I came on this train...with some humans. Living with them, in their homes...Eating dinner with them...Laughing with them... I’ve seen what some humans do, and... it’s not all bad. In fact, there are some humans here who never harbored bad intentions towards me. It’s a small amount, yeah, but there are some humans who accepted me as I come." Heren thought of several-- one who was rather /fascinated/ in his dragon heritage rather than intimidated, who later became a mentor of some sort-- and smiled weakly. "I don’t think anyone is ever fully good or evil, which is what I hope I've learned from observation and interaction. Though, I’m sure you have good reason for your goals. Like you said...we’re similar, right?"

>> FAQ:
:bulletblue: Why the Electric Car?
Because when I first joined, Sabrina told me to join her car since she was the Electric Attendant at the time. :iconmingplz:
But I guess in the end, it does fit Heren well enough. I like to think of the cars, though they don't play a big role in the group, as sort of like the Hogwarts Houses. We used to have a mini description for each train car on the homepage like three years ago and I remember that the description for Electric said "for those who cannot part from their electronics and have passion and curiosity for technology." Heren is really fascinated by high tech gadgets and such- they are so interesting and amusing to him, and he always wants to learn how technology works. I believe Electric is for people who always want to learn more, and are curious, charismatic (electrifying!), and inventive. Of course, all of that is just my personal headcanon LOL. //papming

:bulletblue: WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS WHITE HAIR??
BRUH TRUST ME I MISS IT TOO. but it'll be back.
Heren's hair, as stated in his original app, was not originally white: it was red. His hair, over time, naturally turned white as a result of him disassociating himself from his clan.
Now that he was technically born again, his hair has reverted to its original state of red. From the amount of time spent in Adramar however, his hair has slowly started turning white again, and will, eventually, return to all white.  (THIS IS WHAT HE WOULD LOOK LIKE THO LOL)

:bulletblue: Why did you make Heren die? Why did he suddenly come back to life?? The death was totally BOGUS and this whole plot is deus ex machina! :iconintenserageplz:
Now, I can understand where you're coming from. I do! But you have to understand that I do have /some/ reason for killing and reviving him!
The root of this whole intricate and overly complicated plan that I have sketched out for over two years now, however, does root from a very silly thing:
Every other character seemed to be having their arc except mine!
Arlaena went through memory loss during that time, Ruo died (and came back), Hero got a revamp and was possessed by a dragon spirit- and I wanted Heren to have an arc too! :iconsopsplz:
Of course, when I thought that, I wasn't thinking of an elaborate plot with so many different things- it all blossomed from that want for an arc.
A separate factor that influenced the creation of this whole thing was that I had to take a long hiatus starting the end of January to study for national tests and get all my exams that I need for college in before April/May. Because I had to go on hiatus, I didn't have time to get in an arc that was fully roleplayed and involved my friends-- it would have to be something that I create myself and played offscreen, so to speak. I figured that, since I was going on hiatus and out of World Train for a while, I might as well take Heren with me, and have him go on a "Hiatus Journey"! At this point, I had no idea what this journey would be about, or that he would die at some point. All that came later, the more I thought and planned while on my break.

As for his death and resurrection....
Deus ex machina is "a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved by the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability or object". In this situation, I suppose Heren coming back to life is an unsolvable problem that is suddenly resolved. But I assure you I thought this all through really carefully.
Heren's death serves as a point of character development where, in Purgatory, he is thrown into an abyss where he has nothing better to do than reflect on his life and come face to face with his inner conflicts and turmoils. Here in Purgatory, the place of "Judgement," he truly is being judged- by himself. Purgatory offers him a chance to return, or stay dead-- that is what judgement is. Here, Heren must reflect on his actions and weigh them against his worth. Here, he is tested.
Meeting up with Ren, though at first was a casual fun idea, also serves purpose. Heren's desperation and determination to go back to the living realm is rekindled significantly, now that he has a partner with whom to strive with towards the same goal. Together, the two support and motivate each other and their bond grows deeper. The severing of this bond, created when the two are separated and Ren is dragged back to Hell, influences Heren to be fiercely driven and take whatever measure he can to bring Ren back and get out of Purgatory, the one place he still has a chance to get out of and return to life, before he too is also given final Judgement and dragged--not to Hell like Renhet, but into nothingness.
Yeah I get that it's all played offscreen but as I said, I was going on hiatus for a few months, so I wasn't really able to roleplay.
 thats it bye

It would seem that you’ve a secret admirer this year, after all, and they’re only a day late!

A heart-shaped card has been slipped under your door. You barely have time to read the cheesy love-note however, before--Poof! Glitter everywhere. But don’t worry, you look fabulous. And adorable. And fuzzy. And four-legged. Honestly, this should come as more of a shock, buuuut...this is WorldTrain...

What are you standing around for, passenger? You best go figure out what’s going on, and quick!                                                                                                                          (See the Current Location journal for more information!)
