What’s a Draconis incendia?

This species is humanoid dragon type.

Outward Appearance:
•Retractable, feathered wings that span 16 feet (meaning one wing is 8ft when fully extended) – Ranges in colour from orange to deep maroon.
•Muscular tail that is either smooth and marble-like, or scaly. – The hair on the midline of the tail is always fire-truck red, though the tail itself may vary in colour.
•Hair is a signature flaming red.
•Eyes are a base colour of grey with blood red, orange, or maroon flashes.
•Blood colour is dark red with metallic silver.

You know how in any fantasy book with dragons, there will be a mention of some sort of magical property of their body?
Here are some that apply to this species.
•”The laws of flight say that dragons, like bees, can’t fly, when in actual fact they can. Their aerial skill is assisted by the dragon’s ability to bend its wings and rotate them quickly in their sockets and also by the fact that dragon bones are lightweight and hollow like those of birds.”

Skills for this species
•Most of the clan has fit builds made for running and aerodynamics, as well as stealth and climbing. These four traits are talents shared commonly among the clan.
•Yielding fire.
•Creative and powerful pyrotechnics and manipulation. This includes firebreathing, and able to combust things and supress/distress heat or fire-related things.
•They also possess a strength that surpasses that of a normal fit human being, as well as speed that surmounts a normal human’s speed. Most of the clan is known for their offense rather than much else, in combat.

Weaknesses for this species
•The clan shares the same common weakness against water. Water can be corrosive to their skin, unless it’s water heated by fire. (So yes they take baths and stuff ok) Water is still highly dangerous to them if they consume an improper amount at a singular time (for them maybe like 3 glasses in one sitting? A bottle?) or it goes down the wrong pipe (that’s happened to me so many times akjfh).
•Innate uncomfortable/rivaling feeling towards phoenixes.
•They all also share a common weakness to hoarding gems and stones.

Other:
•The land that they live on has varied terrain, but mainly consists of cold caves on craggy rocks. Lava runs through their home as normally as anything else, and water, though the life force of their kind (just like humans), is kept a very safe distance away from their homes, since it is one of their weaknesses. Larger sources of water are kept contained in deep pits and wells, which are seldom visited.
•The clan resides near neighbouring worlds where other dragons exist. Because of this, they often ally with the other dragons, setting aside judgements and morals.
•They also regard medieval traditions pretty highly.
•Within the clan there are distinct branches—families with their own differences and sharper skills in certain areas.

The background is that Heren comes from a rather prestigious bloodline within the Burning Dragons (Draconis incendia) clan; the Penzydon family is considered synonymous to royal because they are said to be the last pure blooded descendants of actual dragons—you know, the scaly, monster-y ones. His bloodline is (most ominously) known for their supreme fire manipulation, able to destroy and preserve. Because of this, his family is also synonymous to a high class mafia family.
Most of his family members are heavily involved in the ‘government’ of the clan—basically the thing that keeps their society organised and stable, that creates alliances and makes—and later destroys—enemies.


++ 0-> Womb emancipation. Someone notices his eyes are different and starts freaking out.
++ 7 -> betrothed Family realised that Heren couldn’t manipulate fire. His family considered him a freak, a terrible omen, a stain on their family reputation—and cast him away. Since it would be bad to their name to throw a child, no more than a baby, out of the house, Heren stayed in the royal dens, neglected and isolated.
++ 16 -> The Draconis incendia clan had set up a meeting to discuss their hegemonic strategies with an allied group of dragons on the world of Aerendaelus, one day. Aerendaelus was at war; dragons against phoenixes. Heren’s father had proposed to back up their sister dragon clan fully, giving them full support and full fire power, in their fight against the phoenixes.
Heren (a middle-teenager by now,) stood up against this and called out his father for being merciless and cruel for not even taking the reason of the war, nor the perspective of the phoenixes.
Heren’s father had had enough of him by this point, enough of a freak failure of a son who talked back to him. He threw his son into the punishment device the clan used, a deep well-like pit of murky water at the edge of their civilisation; the ultimate weakness for the fire-pulsing dragons they were.
++ 16 -> Not a single sound came out of the pit, a single shift in the amount of life that was down there, for three weeks.
When life in the clan started to carry on—when people started to lose their guard--, water burst through the opening of the pit and a hard rain, almost like a monsoon, poured onto the land; however only touching (and subsequently torturing) the dragons in Heren’s tight knitted family who had put him down there.
And the half dead, ashen, corpse-like figure rising from the well in a cascade whirl of water was Heren.
So: Instead of manipulating fire, Heren learns to manipulate water.
Having almost drowned, he learns to swim, and though he can't breathe underwater with super gills or whatever, he knows his way around water and how to hold his breath for a very long while; the tail helps him, allowing him to propel and move rapidly. For three weeks, he kept himself alive in the well by learning the movement of the water and, realising that he can move water to his liking, and immediately starts thinking of ways to get out. His second home becomes the water, any body of water--be it puddle or ocean.
++ 16 -> Of course, this little discovery and stunt he pulled causes him to be shunned and kicked out not just out of his /family/, but out of the whole clan. /Everyone/ took him for a demon, a mistake. An abomination.
His family soon tries to slay him.
A large battle ensues between Heren and his clan; Heren with a large advantage and disadvantage—he can wield his clan’s greatest weakness, but he is very new at it, making him equally vulnerable.
At last, he ends up taking a burn mark above his right hip from his father, and as Heren moves to strike him, he realises his younger sister is held captive by his father
It was clear to both Heren and his father that this cannot go on for the sake of reputation.
His father finally decides that Heren should be banished from the clan, and lest he ever come back, he won’t be spared.
And, Heren’s okay with that. He spits on the floor, packs up his things, and leaves.

++ 16-19 -> Heren traveled for three years before finding the World Train. He learned many things about the known universe; technology he's never experienced, arts, music, and foods of alien worlds. He's also picked up fighting techniques, since he's been in a couple of fights.

However, because of this, one of his wings is a bit damaged; therefore, /he cannot fly/ for now. Doesn't matter, since he never really learnt to fly anyway. His hair turns white as result of disassociation from his family, as well.
++ 19 -> After roaming from place to place, not finding any particular location suiting to him, he stumbled upon a strange train, puffing out smoke, whistling. As if it were calling to him. He boards WT.
++ 20 -> Now!

Heren, having been neglected his whole life and ignored by asshats, is a bit of the opposite of an asshat. A lot of what he has gone through reflects in the way he acts, speaks, and moves.


+First meetings: Will appear kind, smart, serious. Anything else is a bit hard to find out.
+Let's use a magnifying glass!:

Heren isn’t always smart nor serious. He is kind, humourous and fun loving, and quiet until he finds something to talk about (and can be very talkative!!).
x Though he doesn’t seem like it, he’s very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics EXCEPT LOVE. He's so dull when it comes to anything romantic or even loving, having barely experienced it himself. A lot of the times though, yes, he can be an idiot. But generally that’s only for romantic things or sexual innuendos.
x He thinks a lot, and is, fittingly, very thoughtful--to the point where it looks like he's always depressed.
x He’s proud of how far he has come, smooth talking, clever, and as always, a rebel at heart.
x He follows what he believes in and is willing to take other opinions into account.
x He is precise, never wanting to do a job half-assedly, and patient, extremely loyal, always finding new things to talk about and create.
x However, Heren keeps his space--is cautious. He’s thoroughly independent and feels awkward and uncomfortable having to depend on others. He’s always ready to prove himself, and hates being underestimated.
x When you know him well, he loves to be as informal as appropriately possible. Is very outgoing when he wants. (<- ex. to inquire a stranger, to charm someone, to keep a good atmosphere.)
x Generally to people he’s familiar with, he’s like a hyperactive squirrel.
x He’s also a really passionate and compassionate person, as well as highly determined and motivated.
x He holds strong sympathy and empathy, able to put himself into others’ situation or try and relate. As his nickname suggests, he truly is the quintessence of “gentleman”.
x Unless you anger him, of course. Heren has a very high bullshit tolerance but once it drops, as in once you truly anger him, he has a terrible temper that has, in the past, led to water vases breaking.
x His natural attitude is to latch on/make friends-- "Hey what's your name oh derp doesn't matter we're gonna be friends! :~) " The friends he makes are friends he treasures without saying. He will care for them and hold them inside his heart, and will always try not to appear neglectful. Heren really cares for his friends almost to an altruistic manner. He does his best to keep his friends happy—or just not sad. He absolutely hates it if his friends are upset. If they’re upset with /him/, he’ll do his best to change what he was doing wrong—unless it goes against his morals.
x He has a very high set of morals and is extremely morally sound, believing in his sense of what is right and what is wrong and executing his actions based on that.
x As mentioned, he likes to have fun. He loves pranking people and sharing around laughs, but he also doesn’t mind getting dirty and fighting or competing. For games and fun play, has a very competitive mindset and believes that you can try specifically he can best, but he doesn’t mean a thing if he doesn’t come out on top.

+Any complaints?:

+ He doesn't take constructive critiscism as well as he wants to.
+ When he is frustrated, anger seethes out of him, making him isolate himself.
+ He may harm others with his harsh words accidentally.
+ He also gets jealous, and will get fiesty when people underestimate him. He can be very sassy. /zsnap
+ You're talking about your family in front of him when you know his backstory? Heren might just smash your face with a book in his mind. He is extremely sensitive on this topic and will probably sit there completely silent.
+ He's a bit naiive and clueless on a couple of things, which tends to frustrate many people. Heren can be gullible and naïve because of how much he trusts people at times.
+ He's not a fast learner at all probably because he never had much of a teacher to guide him with--well, /anything/--which frustrates Heren.
+ He's also not very organised. So his side of the cabin will be a bit of a mess. However, he knows where everything is, almost as if everything were filed alphabetically.
+ Heren isn't a "I don't hate anyone" type. He does have people he despises. He often can be indifferent to people he doesn't know well and/or hates, giving off an icy or reserved exterior. It sometimes makes people feel weird.
+ He isn't afraid to be a man and fight--sometimes he picks fights, which isn't good at all. He's been very cautious of it (more reserved than anything) because of it crinkled wing.
+ He can talk pretty loudly. (Which I'd count as a bad thing, if you're supposed to be quiet!)
+ SNORES LIKE A BITCH.
